In this section we explore installing Ethereal under Windows from the binary packages. You must follow two steps:
Install WinPcap. There are instructions at the WinPcap web site for installing it under Windows 9X, Windows NT and Windows 2000. These are located at: http://netgroup-serv.polito.it/winpcap/install/Default.htm.
Install Ethereal. You may acquire a binary installable of Ethereal at http://www.ethereal.com/download.html#binaries. Download the installer ( after installing WinPcap ) and execute it.
